Terms of Use

1. About MeowLog

MeowLog is a pet care tracking service available as an iOS app and web application (meowlog.app). The service allows you to:

• Track your pets' daily activities through diary entries and photos
• Manage health records, vaccinations, medications, and veterinary visits
• Set tasks and reminders for pet care routines
• Store veterinary documents in a secure document vault
• Use AI-powered features for pet photo analysis, health insights, and care assistance
• Share pet care responsibilities with household members
• Optionally create public profiles to share your pet with others

By creating an account on MeowLog, you agree to these terms of use. If you do not accept the terms, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or 13 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable age of digital consent) to create an account and use MeowLog. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under the minimum age, we will promptly delete the account and associated data.

3. User Data and Security

Your data is stored securely on our servers. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. We recommend using a strong password and not sharing your account with others. For details on how we handle your data, please see our Privacy Policy.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

MeowLog offers a free tier with limited features:

• 1 pet
• 10 AI credits per month
• 1 photo per pet per day (5 total per month)
• 5 documents per pet
• No household creation, public profiles, or Vet Prep access

MeowLog Pro is a paid subscription that renews automatically on a monthly or yearly basis, depending on the selected plan. Pricing is $4.99/month or $49.99/year.

The subscription renews automatically at the end of the current period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can cancel in your account settings.

Payment platforms: MeowLog Pro can be purchased through the Apple App Store (for iOS users) or through our website (via Stripe). Each subscription is managed by its respective platform. You are responsible for managing your subscription through the platform where you purchased it. If you subscribe through multiple platforms, you may be charged twice — please ensure you only maintain one active subscription.

Subscription lapse: If your Pro subscription is canceled or expires, your account will revert to the free tier. During a 30-day grace period: your data is preserved but features beyond free tier limits become inaccessible (extra pets and documents are hidden, not deleted). After 30 days, household members (except the owner) will be removed from the household. If you resubscribe within the grace period, all data and access is immediately restored.

Refunds: For subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store, refund requests must be submitted to Apple in accordance with their refund policy. For subscriptions purchased through our website (via Stripe), you may request a refund within 14 days of the initial purchase by contacting [email protected]. Renewal charges are non-refundable unless required by applicable law.

We reserve the right to change prices. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days in advance of any price change.

5. AI Features and Veterinary Disclaimer

MeowLog includes AI-powered features that provide general information and suggestions about pet care. These features are not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

• AI-generated health observations, insights, and suggestions are for informational purposes only.
• Always consult a qualified veterinarian for medical decisions regarding your pet's health.
• AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. You are solely responsible for any actions you take based on AI-generated content.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any AI-generated content.
• The "Vet Prep" feature generates suggested questions for veterinary visits — it does not provide diagnoses or treatment recommendations.

By using AI features, you acknowledge that you understand these limitations and agree not to rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for professional veterinary care.

6. Acceptable Use & Content Policy

MeowLog is designed for tracking and sharing pet-related content. You are solely responsible for all content you upload, including photos, diary entries, and other materials.

You agree not to upload, share, or transmit any content that:

• Contains sexually explicit, pornographic, or obscene material
• Depicts violence, abuse, or cruelty toward animals or people
• Constitutes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or exploitation of minors
• Promotes illegal activities, hate speech, harassment, or discrimination
• Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
• Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code

We use automated content moderation to scan uploaded images for inappropriate content. Images that violate this policy will be automatically rejected.

Content reporting: Users can report public content they believe violates these terms. We review all reports and may remove content or suspend accounts at our discretion. Abuse of the reporting system may itself result in account suspension.

We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, without prior notice. Illegal content will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

7. Public Pet Profiles

Pro subscribers can enable public profiles for their pets, making selected information (pet name, species, breed, age, and explicitly published photos) accessible to anyone with the link.

• You are solely responsible for content you choose to publish publicly.
• Published content must comply with our Acceptable Use & Content Policy.
• Other users may report public content they believe violates our policies.
• We reserve the right to disable public profiles or remove published content that violates our policies.
• Public profiles can be disabled at any time, immediately removing public access.

8. Household Sharing

Pro subscribers can create a household and invite up to 8 members to share pet care responsibilities.

• Shared access: All household members have equal access to view and edit all pets, diary entries, health records, photos, documents, and tasks within the household. There are no per-item access controls.
• Owner responsibilities: The household owner is responsible for managing membership and ensuring all members comply with these terms.
• Data visibility: By joining a household, you understand that your contributions (diary entries, photos, etc.) will be visible to and editable by all other members.
• Leaving a household: If you leave or are removed, you lose access to all household data. Data you contributed remains accessible to remaining members.
• Subscription dependency: Household sharing requires the owner to maintain an active Pro subscription. If the subscription lapses, a 30-day grace period applies (see Subscriptions and Payments).

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code in MeowLog belongs to Ingvaldsen Utvikling. User-generated content (photos, diary entries, etc.) remains your property, but you grant us a limited license to display and process the content in order to deliver the service.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the app or web settings. Upon deletion:

• Your account enters a 30-day deactivation period during which your data is retained but your account is inaccessible.
• During this period, you may contact us at [email protected] to request account restoration.
• After 30 days, all your data — including pets, diary entries, health records, photos, documents, tasks, and AI conversation history — is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our servers.
• Certain data may be retained beyond 30 days only where required by law (e.g., financial records for accounting purposes, up to 5 years).
• If you are a household owner, your household will be dissolved and all members will lose access to shared data.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

MeowLog is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that: (a) the service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (b) AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose; (c) defects will be corrected; or (d) the service is free of viruses or harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ingvaldsen Utvikling shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ingvaldsen Utvikling and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the service; (b) your violation of these terms; (c) content you upload or publish; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, power failures, internet outages, or government actions.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Norway.

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, this does not affect your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence. You also have the right to bring claims in the courts of your country of residence.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

16. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ingvaldsen Utvikling regarding your use of MeowLog and supersede any prior agreements.
